Garden maintenance is the basis of our work: mowing, scarifying, feeding, bed care, leaf clearance and spring and autumn tidy-ups – as a one-off visit or as a maintenance contract (Pflegevertrag) with fixed dates for private gardens, homeowners' associations (Eigentümergemeinschaften) and property managers (Hausverwaltungen). This also covers hedge trimming and shrub care (shaping cuts all year round, hard cutting back only from October to February in line with the Federal Nature Conservation Act, Bundesnaturschutzgesetz § 39 BNatSchG), lawns and turf from scarifying through to a completely new lawn in April/May or September/October, as well as tree felling and tree care including crown reduction, stump grinding and the permit application under the relevant tree protection bylaw (Baumschutzsatzung). For property managers, homeowners' associations and commercial clients we combine all of this with property and grounds maintenance and with a winter service that takes over the legal duty to clear and grit (Räum- und Streupflicht) under contract and with written documentation of every call-out.

In garden and landscape construction we plan and build outdoor spaces from start to finish: garden design and planning from the front garden to a low-maintenance sloping garden, paving and pathways on a load-bearing crushed-stone sub-base (30–40 cm for driveways that carry vehicles), patio construction in concrete slabs, porcelain stoneware, natural stone or timber and WPC, fencing and privacy screens in twin-wire mesh panels, timber or WPC, earthworks and excavation with a mini digger for digging out, levelling and clearance, walls including dry-stone walls, L-shaped concrete elements and gabions to stabilise slopes, garden irrigation with pop-up sprinklers and drip lines, and drainage against waterlogging in the lawn and at the patio. The trades interlock neatly: if we build your patio, the falls, the drainage channel, the edge restraint and the transition to the lawn are all planned in at the same time – without you having to coordinate three different companies.

Our service area stretches from the Bergisches Land down into the Rhine plain, and from a gardener's point of view that is a considerable difference. In Wuppertal, Schwelm, Ennepetal, Gevelsberg, Velbert or Hagen many plots sit on a slope: shallow, stony soils over slate and 1,000 to 1,200 mm of rain a year – steps, retaining walls and drainage are almost always part of the project here. In Düsseldorf, Meerbusch, Neuss, Ratingen, Hilden and Cologne, by contrast, we work on the flat, often sandy-loamy soils of the lower Rhine terrace with hot city summers; irrigation, large lawns, driveways and villa gardens are the typical tasks there. We know both worlds from everyday practice, and we know the local rules just as well: the tree protection bylaw (Baumschutzsatzung) applies in Düsseldorf and Cologne from a trunk circumference of 80 cm and in Wuppertal from 100 cm, Meerbusch requires six weeks' notice before a tree is felled, and Schwelm and Ennepetal currently have no such bylaw. We are also regularly at work in the Ruhr area – Hattingen, Bochum, Essen, Witten – and in Solingen, Remscheid and Leverkusen.

This is how a project runs with us: you send us a few photos and the rough measurements by WhatsApp, phone or e-mail, we usually reply within 24 hours and arrange a free on-site visit. You then receive a fixed-price quote with every item listed – materials, labour, machinery, waste disposal and, where applicable, permit fees. As a first orientation, here are a few non-binding guide prices incl. VAT: garden maintenance approx. €45–65 per hour, paving complete with sub-base approx. €70–250 per m², patio construction approx. €80–300 per m² depending on the surface, a twin-wire mesh fence including installation approx. €65–150 per linear metre, turf laying approx. €17–47 per m², tree felling approx. €150–1,500 depending on height and access, and a mini digger with operator approx. €65–100 per hour. The actual price depends on area, access, subsoil and material – which is why we prefer a free look on site to a guess over the phone.

Worth knowing for private customers: under the German Income Tax Act (§ 35a EStG) you can deduct 20 % of the labour costs directly from your tax bill – up to €4,000 per year for household-related services (haushaltsnahe Dienstleistungen) such as garden maintenance, hedge trimming or winter service, and up to €1,200 per year for tradesman services (Handwerkerleistungen) such as paving, patios, fences or walls. We show the labour costs separately on every invoice. Green waste, spoil and rubble are taken away by us and disposed of properly, and we hand the site back swept clean. For new gardens, walls and earthworks, autumn and winter are in fact often the best time of year: shorter waiting times, frost-free ground and the ideal planting season for hedges and woody plants.
